About Me

Hello, my name is Peter Hudec and I'm a freelance professional photographer based in Bratislava, Slovakia with 10+ years of experience, working for leading Slovak and Czech news agencies, newspapers and magazines. During my career I covered major CEE events; such as the Bush-Putin Summit, the Davis Cup Finals, the IIHF Hockey World Championship in 2004 and 2011 and recently the funeral of the late Czech President Vaclav Havel. My pictures appeared in both, printed and online media such as the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Sueddeutsche Zeitung, and many more. Currently, I'm proud to be working as a stringer for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA).

Furthermore, I'm a technical person - a DIY maker and programmer with plenty of ideas, most of which are related to spherical panoramic photography and the Internet. Most of my projects are carried out by myself including learning and execution of all the necessary web technologies. Over the time, I advanced from frustration of HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript to euphoria of recent technologies like Python, Django, Google App Engine, HAML, Jade, SASS, Less and CoffeeScript.

In my free time I play guitar, I enjoy playing baseball and I watch american football. I also enjoy cooking and since 2009 I successfully practice polar swimming.
